Nathi Mthethwa Slams Race Organisers

Nathi Mthethwa Slams the Marathon board for being irresponsible.

Amidst the national health crisis, the Coronavirus Pandemic, the president Cyril Ramaphosa declared a state of national disaster telling everyone to take preventive measures, while also closing the boarders. At the instance of this all sporting activities were suppose to be postponed as seen in other countries, but the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) decided to go on with the plans for planned marathon events and this didn’t go down well with the sports minister Nathi Mthethwa.

The event which is started to take place on the 14th Of June 2020 according to the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) will still be holding at the stated date, because the board felt it was not right to postpone the event as it was already near. Nathi Mthethwa, who is the sport minister has now come out to say the decision is not a responsible one, as it might be a channel to spreading the deadly disease.
