It’s been a long and lachrymal week for the Tembe and the Forbes families following the death of Nelli Tembe, fiancée to Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, the South African rapper who goes by the stage name of AKA.
Nelli Tembe had reportedly fallen to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town after a night out with AKA and friends. At the time, opinions had been divided as to what caused her death.
The media had reported she fell to her death. But speculations were rife that she jumped to her death. During her funeral, however, her father Moses Tembe denied she committed suicide.
In his speech during the funeral, he had advised the youths to stay away from drugs and alcohol. This provoke a furor online, with some social media denizens speculating that Nelli Tembe was on drugs at the time of her passing.
Moses Tembe had also called on AKA to give his life to Christ. Nelli Tembe’s death had sent shock waves across South Africa because many had not seen it coming. It made AKA inconsolable, according to family.
