Rising Hip Hop Artist popsnotthefather Is Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight For This Month

Fast rising artist, Popsnotthefather makes the Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight for May.

Lungani Siseko Madube whose stage name is Popsnotthefather is a super talented rapper and singer from Gauteng who merges smooth hip hop with experimental melodies.

The rapper made his debut into the industry with his debut alternative single “DTF” in 2018. The single did so well it earned him a feature on budding artist The Big Hash’s “Save  Me” album in 2019.

Popsnotthefather started his journey into the music scene as far back as grade 5, due to influences from his cousin Onke. He also picked up the violin instrument, which he played until the grade 10

The rapper in expressing his excitement about being recognized by the platform, said he felt great that the hustle was finally being recognized.

In his words;

“It’s super crazy,” says Pops. “It means that we’re finally being recognised for what we’re doing. We’ve spent hours in the studio and I’ve slept on the floor and I’d be like – what am I even doing right now? But it’s so great and so surreal to be included as Apple Music’s New Artist Spotlight.”

Popsnotthefather is also recognized for the success of his debut album NNNN (an acronym for Not Now, Not Never).

Some of my favorite albums are those with a few songs that don’t necessarily resonate on the first listen but then, grow on you the most over time. Looking back now, those projects really lasted for me & became classics in my eyes – to this day. That’s what I strived for on this project. A sound you can fall in love with. Maybe Not Now but definitely, Not Never,
