New IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Was Crowned At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 Day 2

A new IWGP United States Heavyweight champion was crowned at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 Day 2.

It might please fans to know that The Ace has made his way back to the top. Now, that’s a great way to kick off the new year. Hiroshi Tanashi emerged winner (for the second time) of the IWGP United States Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 when he defeated KENTA in a No Disqualification match.

The match featured tables, ladders, chairs, kendo sticks, etc. KENTA also got injured in the match. Fans were excited to see Hiroshi Tanashi regain victory with the IWGP US Championship. The first time he did, he reigned for a total 80 days; a long time to be at the top.

Unfortunately, his reign came to an end after he was defeated by KENTA who took the belt at the NJPW Power Struggle 2021. He did not make any successful title defenses during his reign. Hiroshi definitely came back for what’s his. He defeated KENTA by climbing to the top of the ladder, and hitting him through a table with a high fly flow. Some say he didn’t look very happy following his win. Congrats to him anyway.
