South African broadcaster Ngizwe Mchunu has dragged celebrated musician DJ Tira, accusing him of not living up to the promise he made to the family of the late Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.
Mampintsha died on Christmas day last year following a mild stroke. It was one death no one saw coming, sot the Rainbow Nation was understandably shocked when the news broke out.
At Mampintsha’s funeral, DJ Tira made a couple of promises to the late musician’s family to keep his legacy alive as well as take care of the family he left behind.
Well, as far as Ngizwe Mchunu is concerned, DJ Tira has not lived up to his promise but is exploiting the late musician’s wife babes Wodumo instead. He claimed that DJ Tira had promised to donate his Song of the Year Award to Mampintsha but failed to do so.
At the time of writing, the “Ikhenani” singer had not replied to Ngizwe Mchunu. Until his death, Mampintsh had a close relationship with DJ Tira, at some point, Tira was even managing Big Nuz, a kwaito band of which Mampointsh was a member.
It remains to be seen how DJ Tira would react to Ngizwe Mchunu’s latest sally. Stay tuned.
