Nigerians Troll South Africans Following AFCON Semi-finals Defeat

Nigerians are trolling South Africans on Twitter following the country’s defeat at the AFCON Semi-finals on Wednesday night.

The African Cup Of Nations tournament has been thrilling to follow. On Wednesday night, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana faced Nigeria’s Super Eagles after defeating Cape Verde in the Quarter Finals.

Everyone was excited about this one because it was the first time the countries were meeting on the AFCON field in close to two-and-a-half decades. Unfortunately, Nigeria reigned supreme after a 4-2 victory on penalties. While South Africans were disappointed by the outcome of the game, they praised the national team for coming so far.

Trust Nigerians to not let it slide. They took to Twitter and trolled South Africans for their defeat. Some posted the lyrics of Master KG’s massive hit song “Skeleton Move,” “No matter where you go, remember the road that will lead you home.”

They also joked that recent Grammy winner Tyla would give them water to cool their heads. One Nigerian user wrote, “How we sent them home to go drink Water by Tyla. Nigeria won South Africa and are qualified for the final match in AFCON.” Some made jokes about Amapiano finally being hijacked from South Africa by Nigerians.
