Mzansi singer and songwriter Nomcebo Zikode celebrates her and Master KG’s hit song, “Jerusalema,” as it goes Gold in the US, saying, “I wrote and performed Jerusalema.”
Mzansi is impressed every time someone in the music industry makes us look good. First, it was Black Coffee bringing home a Grammy Award, and now, it is Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode earning Mzansi’s first Gold song certification in the US. Crazy right?
The popular vocalist has been open about her fight for royalties from the song. We have no idea how that’s going. But she took to her Instagram page to celebrate the significant milestone.
In the caption, Nomcebo revealed that she wrote and performed the hit song in her native IsiZulu language. She also acknowledged the people who have helped her through her ups and downs and the ones who have tried to dim her light and downplay and work and achievements. Congrats to her.
