Not everyone has it easy because of their sexuality. Some have mighty struggles, facing discrimination here and there and even losing out on gigs as a result. Usually, this is dependent on the environment, as some environments are more tolerant than others.
Well, Nomsa Buthelezi is one woman who knows what it feels like to face discrimination of sorts. She’s publicly lesbian and bold to be. However, her sexuality seems to repel a lot of people, and some just keep away from her for fear of being called lesbian themselves. Here, the saying that you are the company you keep seems to be at play.
In a clip currently making the rounds online, Nomsa could be seen saying that being a lesbian in South Africa is pretty hard. She didn’t look quite happy in the video.
