Nelli Tembe is gone, but the tributes have not stopped pouring in, in a recent tweet, her elder sister Nondumiso Tembe paid tribute to her memory.

There have been conflicting words on what actually happened the morning of her death on Sunday 11 April 2021. Some think she fell off the Pepper Club Hotel and others said she jumped to her death. She had reportedly battled with depression and suicidal ideation for some time now.
Although her family had acknowledged her death in a joint statement with AKA’s family, there was no clarification on what actually happened.
Hours before her death, Nellie Tembe had been videoed dancing and laughing with fiancée AKA at DJ Sumbody’s night club Ayepyep Lifestyle. No one had envisaged the tragedy that followed.
AKA has reportedly been inconsolable after her death. Although he has not said anything since her death, his father Tony had spoken via Zoom during a prayer meeting held in Nellie Tembe’s memory. He described her as confident and respectful.
The prayer meeting attracted some of AKA’s industry friends including L-Tido.
