Celebrated singer Missy Elliott has been honored again,m with a second doctorate – this time from Norfolk State University.
An excited Missy Elliott took to her verified Instagram page, where she shared images from the awards event. In one of her captions, she expressed her gratitude to have been honored with a Ph.D. by the institution.
Addressing the students graduating this year, she wished them a successful journey and that they might be the best they can be. She let them know they are the leaders and visionaries of tomorrow. Her comment section was thronged by fans and celebs alike congratulating her on the new milestone.
Missy Elliot didn’t only receive an honorary doctorate, she also delivered the commencement speech and was presented with the Presidential Commencement Medallion.
By the way, the celebrated singer also showed her love to the institution by donating the sum of $20,000, something the university acknowledged in a tweet while also noting it was for the institution’s “Areas of Greatest Need” fund.
Missy Elliot received her first doctorate degree in 2019 from Berkley University. That same year, Justin Timberlake and other notable figures were also honored with doctorate degrees. With her latest milestone, she joins the league of celebs with multiple honorary doctorates.
