NOTA On What Caused Zahara’s Death

It is the festive season, but right now, the season is anything but festive for the family of the South African singer Zahara. She died yesterday, December 11, 2023.

Since the news of her death broke, South Africans have been mourning, with people, celebrities and ordinary folk alike, sharing their thoughts about the singer’s passing. One of those who have shared their thoughts so far was NOTA Baloyi.

The controversial music executive took to tweet where he blamed the singer’s death on alcohol abuse. He claimed in his tweet that DJ Sbu, who alongside TK Ncizaowned the record label to which the “Loliwe” hitmaker was once signed, did everything in his power to protect and empower Zahara.

But then, according to him, it is hard to protect people from themselves. The result was Zahara destroying herself through alcoholism, he claimed, as you can see in the post below.

Zahara was rushed to the history in what was rumoured to be a medical emergency. At the time, it was claimed that her liver had failed and she would need a liver transplant. But her family merely spoke about her complaining of stomach pain in a statement. Sadly, the singer passed away yesterday at the hospital.
