“Shaka iLembe” dramatises the life and legacy of the man said to be the greatest Zulu king – Shaka. It was set against the backdrop of the 1700s, when Shaka was on the throne.
The making of the film itself has not been without controversy, as another producer had claimed that the script was stolen from him. The claim reverberated across South Africa at the time it was made, forcing a rebuttal from “Shaka iLembe” producers.
