Ntsiki Mazwai Shouts Out The Homeless People Directing Traffic Amid Loadshedding

Controversial poet and anti-GBV advocate Ntsiki Mazwai has just shown love to the homeless people directing traffic in South Africa even as load shedding bares its fans into the South African society.

In a recent tweet, she shouted out to the homeless people who have taken it upon themselves to direct traffic and ensure an easy flow of vehicles, even as theSouth Africa contends with load shedding and many street lights do not work.

Her tweet struck a positive note among South Africans, who also popped in her mentions to express gratitude to the homeless directing traffic as well.

Load shedding is currently a singularly important topic in South Africa. With the Power utility Eskom unable to meet the country’s energy needs, the lights are off for the most part – and that includes traffic lights.

This, of course, opens up the possibility of chaos on the roads with drivers acting as they please without the guidance of traffic lights. But with the homeless taking care of that, part of a potentially incendiary situation has been doused.

Well, it will be interesting to see how South Africa takes care of its energy nightmare, and if the homeless will stay the course in their pro bono traffic control adventures.
