Ofentse Mwase On The Song He Skips On AKA’s Mass Country Album

Mass Country was the South African rapper AKA’s last album. He, unfortunately, did not have the honour of witnessing the album’s release before his assassination in February. Still, the posthumous project continues to do well, with many South Africans sharing positive reviews about it.

The prevailing opinion about the project is that it is a no-skip body of work – meaning that the numbers are all gripping, and one cannot ignore any of them right from the very first track on the project.

It turns out one man has a different opinion from the others, however. The video director Ofentse Mwase has just shared his thoughts about his project, noting there is one song he skips each time. He noted that he skips the first song in the project because it hurts each time.

The number is titled “Last Time.” While he had no trouble listening to other songs in the compilation over and over again, he just skips the first one. You can check out his tweet below.

AKA’s tragic killing just outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban provoked mourning across Soityh Africa. Sadly, at the time of writing, his killers had not been found. His legacy lives, of course.
