Omuhle Gela Chooses Acting Gig Over Tropika Island Competition

Fans aren’t surprised as actress Omuhle Gela dumps Tropika Island Competition season 11 for acting gig.

According to a new report by Sunday World, Mzansi actress and media personality Omuhle Gela has pulled out of season 11 of Tropika: Island of Treasure. She shared a statement about it on Monday, announcing her exit from the competition, and revealing that she has asked production to recast her for the show.

According to her, she is currently involved in an upcoming television series which clashes with the shooting of Tropika: Island of Treasure. The reality show is set to take place in Zanzibar, a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of east Africa.

She said, “As an actress returning to the screen following a year-long break off screen, my team and I have given careful thought to my next professional steps.”

“It is with sincere and heartfelt gratitude that I express my appreciation for the opportunity to be part of Tropika: Island of Treasure, and I was eagerly anticipating the show.”

“However, we have concluded that prioritising a longer acting contract in my professional field is in my best interest.”

She also thanked her fans for their support since she announced that she was part of the show. “Tropika: Island of Treasure” features a celebrity cast including former Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri, actor Hungani Ndlovu, dancer Chad Jones, and singer Bobby van Jaarsveld. It will be hosted by Zanele Potelwa. The contestants will compete for R1 million.
