Now and again, governments warn about the vitality of careful driving, but not everyone is prepared to take those warnings to heart all the time. And the result is almost always tragic – as evidenced by what happened in Zimbabwe recently.
An accident involving Rimbi Tours and Zebra Kiss bus has forced the government to suspend the licenses of both with “immediate effect.”
In the accident which took place on Tuesday, a conductor was killed while seven others were injured.
according to multiple sources, the accident took place along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway when a speeding Rimbi Tours bus tried to overtake a Zebra Kiss bus. Instead, it had hit the rear of a tipper truck which was travelling in the same direction.
The impact was such that it shattered the glass and even ruined its body, leaving a vast open space on the side, as seen in the picture below.
With the suspension of the operating licenses of both Rimbi Tours and Zebra Kiss, all buses belonging to both companies will now be withdrawn from the routes they used to play while authorities commence a full investigation into the accident.
It remains to be seen what the outcome of the investigation will be.
