One Republic To Perform In SA This November

American Pop/Rock band One Republic will perform in South Africa this November.

Our month just got way more interesting. If you didn’t know, One Republic is coming to SA to perform on three dates as part of their ongoing tour. The band is scheduled to perform at Cape Town’s Grand Arena on November 15 and at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on 18 and 19 November.

Cool right? You might want to cop your tickets now. The band consists of singer/songwriter & lead vocalist Ryan Tedder, guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, keys player Brian Willett and drummer Eddie Fisher. They are known for the hit songs “Apologize,” “Counting Stars,” etc.

This marks the band’s first tour in 6 years. Ryan Tedder opened up about his mental health struggles in a Facebook post shared in 2017. He said, “I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, not sleeping, on meds, not happy, anxiety on a crippling level, and it was triggered from sheer exhaustion,” Tedder wrote. “I looked at a calendar, realised I had been gone 200 days of 2016 and still had three more weeks of being gone from my family, my wife, my kids, my friends. Basically my life.”

“At the time we had a tour planned for the US in February, straight into Europe and then the rest of the world. We were gonna be gone again, for ages. The thought of it literally sent me into a sweat and made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack.”
