Orlando Pirates’s Ex-Goalie Brighton Snags Acting Role

After a brilliant run in the world of football, Brighton Mhlongo is taking a big leap into the world of acting. And he couldn’t be more excited. Interestingly, he is part of a new series dubbed “Champions.”

While it is unclear what provoked the title of the series, it is not open to doubt that Brighton Mhlongo is moving from a champion of the pitch to a champ of the big screen. Either way, he remains a champ. Lol.

Until he retired from the football universe, Brighton Mhlongo was associated with a couple of notable teams, including Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits. His position was that of a goalkeeper.

Interestingly, his character in “Champions” is in part what he had lived out in real life. In the series, he plays the role of a retired footballer and owner of a football club. In real life, Brighton is indeed retired. However, he doesn’t own a football club at the time of writing. Whether he had the ambition of owning one, too, is unclear.

In his new role, he joins industry notables like Kwenzo Ngcobo, Thembinkosi Mthembu, and Sello Maake ka-Ncube.

Well, congratulations are in order for him in his new role.
