Over Seven Dead After Mini-Bus Rolls Down Embankment in KZN

A mini-bus lost control while driving along uMhali, north of Durban.

A driver of a vehicle has lost control, which resulted in the taxi veering off in uMhali, north of Durban. This resulted in the death of over seven people.

Robert McKenzie, KZN emergency services spokesperson, stated that six people were found dead at the scene, three people sustained major injuries after the car crash, and two sustained moderate injuries while another two sustained minor injuries.

Shawn Herbst from Netcare 911 said that the patients were treated on the scene.

He said:

Due to the nature of one of the patient’s injuries, a medical helicopter was called to the scene.

Once treated, all the patients were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment. All necessary authorities were on scene.

The accident happened on Friday, around 6:45 am.
