Paige Releases Her Substantial Debut Solo Album – ‘Isono’

Pretorian-born Paige’s story reads like a fairy-tale, in a space of months she made a breakthrough in the local South African music entertainment space when she broke the internet with her viral video singing to Makhadzi’s single ‘Ghanama’ in isiZulu. The talented vocalist has since become a well-established Pop sensation both locally and across Africa.

Earlier this year in June, she launched her solo career with lead and first single off her album ‘Phakade’ featuring Seezus Beats, which can be described as a commercial success. On Friday the 18th of November Paige finally releases her highly anticipated debut solo album ‘Isono’ translating to sin. The body of work is a mixture of spiritual, soulful sounds as well as the infamous Limpopo sound fused with a little bit of Amapiano.

  1. ‘Baningi (Intro)’ is a sweet-sounding introduction, a combination of soul and afro. Paige takes us on an emotional trans with her storytelling through the universal language that is music.
  2. Paige shows off her vocal abilities on ‘Kodwa Baba’ featuring Seezus Beats. This track has a heartfelt message behind it, although emotional Paige and Seezus add an upbeat tempo adding a unique vibe to the sound.
  3. The track named after the album ‘Isono’ is a farewell anthem directly translated to; farewell, till we meet again one day.
  4. ‘Sizakuwe’ is a modernized gospel song speaking on hardships faced in life and how we have a higher power to turn to in times of need and comfort.
  5. Following Sizakuwe is the lead and first single to come off the project in June: ‘Phakade’.
  6. ‘Bambelela’ is a prayer of hope, strength, and persistence. Paige says that no matter what life throws at you, whether it is people wishing you bad or everyday struggles: pray, don’t lose faith, and hold on.
  7. The next track is ‘Unjalo’ a song about unconditional love! Paige declares her undying love for her partner even though her better half has some flaws. The title is self-explanatory as it directly translates to as you are.
  8. ‘Mahlalela’ is next on the tracklist. If this song does not motivate you to get up and get to work, nothing will. Paige makes a bold statement about financial well-being.
  9. Aside from her storytelling abilities, Paige is also famously known for her gimmicky lyrical content that really makes her music stand out. ‘Amadoda’ is a perfect example of Paige’s playful side.
  10. ‘Ngilibega Kuwe’ features the talented producer and DJ Sdala B, every song of Paige has a message, and this one is no different. Ngilibenga Kuwe delivers a message of love and trust.
  11. Closing off the project is ‘Hlubula’ in collaboration with singer, songwriter, and dancer Mukosi. She closes it off in a fun-filled manner. Hlubula is another one of Paige’s modernistic and perky numbers.
