Bafana Bafana footballer Percy Tau finds himself in a precarious situation as Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly coach resigns.
On Monday, Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane announced his resignation. He shared photos of his time with the team and shared that “for last 20 months, this is our journey that God has blessed us with.” She showed his gratitude for the time spent with the team.
Mosimane brought Percy Tau to Ahly. They had previously worked together at Mamelodi Sundowns and won the Caf Champions League in 2016. At the time, Tau was not getting enough game time at English Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.
Mosimane helped revive his career at the Confederation of African Football’s Club of the 20th century. On arriving in Cairo in August 2021, he signed a four-year deal. He is currently left with three years on his contract. Mosimane’s resignation could be demanding for Tau in Egypt.
In a statement to TimesLIVE, Tau’s manager Mmatsatsi Sefalafala said, “No comment. Percy has a contract with Al Ahly,”
