Phala Phala Scandal: Malema Calls For Ramaphosa’s Prosecution

From the look of things, it is not yet uhuru for embattled president Cyril Ramaphosa as the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has made it clear that he will stop at nothing to ensure the president ends up in jail for his crimes.

Ramaphosa got into trouble recently when former police chief Arthur Fraser was relieved of his post., Fraser, a notable Jacob Zuma loyalist, had taken President Ramaphosa to the cleaners, releasing a dossier about what had happened in the President’s Phala Phala farm in 2020.

According to Fraser, a heist had taken place at the property, and millions of dollars were hidden under mattresses stolen. He accused the president of corruption and money laundering, insisting that the president failed to report the robbery, which further raises questions about the sources of the funds.

The president had noted later that the fund was from the sale of livestock, but many did not believe, including, of course, Julius Malema.

The EFF leader, during a media briefing yesterday, Monday, noted that it wasn’t enough for the president to resign (there is a massive call for Ramaphosa’s resignation but he hasn’t resigned yet), but that the president should be prosecuted for his crimes.
