A photo of former Mamelodi Sundowns player Khayelihle Shozi looking forlorn and living on the streets recently surfaced online and went viral in no time. It was a big shock and heartbreaking for many who saw it.
For one, as early as 2020, he was still a known footballer but his career was beginning to go downhill. He is reported to have had a mental breakdown and went missing at some point. His family took him for psychiatric evaluation and that was it.
When people saw him again, he was on the streets and living a life no one would wish for a family member. One of those who saw the picture of the former Mamelodi Sundowns player was renowned coach Pitso Mosimane.
In response to the tweet, he noted that Shozi was a gifted player who had been promoted ahead of some of his peers and it was heartbreaking to see his current state.
South Africans who saw the coach’s tweet praised him for it and others expressed the belief that he would not just tweet but take action to see that the songster is rehabilitated. You can check out some of the comments below.
Hopefully, Shozi recovers soon enough
