Contrary to what some had expected, South Africa’s Priddy Ugly has responded to claims his wife Bontle Modiselle funded his studio sessions when he was an up-and-coming artiste and was generally struggling.
We had reported the story earlier, and you can read it here. In a tweet, a fan had claimed that the “E.G.Y.P.T” mastermind had been funded by his Wife Bontle when he was broke. The denizens of black Twitter had hopped on the tweet, mocking the early days of the muso.
One user was particularly savage, describing Priddy Ugly as yet an up-and-coming musician many years after he popped on the music scene.
Others used the medium to pontificate on how women should stick around and “build” their men and not abandon them in the days of their struggles, for better days usually lie ahead.
In a recent tweet, however, Priddy Ugly has dismissed claims he was ever funded by his wife. According to him, contrary to what some had said, he never had a studio session that needed to be paid for.
