It has often been said that no matter who you are and no matter what you do, you would always have at least one person supporting you. We see this manifest around us every day. For celebrated singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka, it manifested recently after she was recorded singing of=key.
Although not particularly active as a singer right now, the songstress has already earned a secure place in the universe of South African music and entertainment.
It turned out that wasn’t enough to keep away the trolls after a clip of her singing of-key popped online. Some tweeps had a field day laughing at her singing and generally making fun at her expense, But fellow singer Prince Kaybe is having none of the trolling.
Reacting to the video, the “Club Controller” hitmaker noted that her team was at fault for what happened, as the song was supposed to have been edited in post and pitch. He went on to give other issues that should have been corrected by the singer’s team.
Prince Kaybe ended up saying he would love to remake the song with her. You can check out the post below.
Her team let her down, this was meant to be edited in post, pitch corrected, reverb and the keys needed to be sustained not short quantized like that. Also because its as good as an acapella, assistance with low octave harmonies are paramount.
