A musician writing “FREE” followed by a heart emoji to announce the end of a partnership with a record label tells a lot about that partnership, one of which is that the musician is happy to leave the fold. Well, that’s what’s just happened with South African singer and record producer Prince Kaybee.
in a recent post on his verified Instagram page, the songster had shared a letter from Universal Music and their agreement to end their relationship. Apparently, for the past eight years, Prince Kaybee was signed to Universal Music. but their partnership is over now.
The termination of the relationship was by mutual agreement, which brings up the question of what’s next for the “Club Controller” hitmaker. He didn’t say. He merely informed fans that he was no longer part of the Universal family.
Anyway, fans and other celebs appear to be happy for him, as evident in the reactions to the post he shared. For instance, media personality Unathi had commented that he is happy for Prince Kaybee.
By the way, even though he was part of universal music, the songster also had his record label. it will be interesting to see whether he would now focus on his label or join another big-name label.
