Prince Kaybee Welcomed As Idols SA Season17 Judge

Idols SA has just got a fresh prince who might not be a fresh prince… Well, that’s in the sense that he is no newcomer in the world of South African music, nor is he an obscure figure.

Meet Kabelo Motsami, the South African disc jockey and producer long famous by the stage name Prince Kaybee. He’s just been announced as the newest addition to the judging panel of Idols SA, which is currently in its 17th season.

In announcing the “Fetch Your Life” maestro, show organizers had trained their spotlight on his many achievements, describing him as a four-timer South Africa Music Awards (SAMA) winner as well as one of the important voices in South Africa’s house music scene.

It also noted the fact that former United States president Barack Obama was a fan of the songster and had included “Uwrongo,” Prince Kaybee’s collaborative work with Shimza and Ami Faku, as part of his favourite songs of 2020.

Affirming Prince Kaybee’s appeal, the show organizers not that it is not often that judges are joined by royalty.

By the way, Prince Kaybee is more of a guest judge. He’s both one of a string of musicians who had showed up on the show as guest judges.
