Prince William Pictured Mingling With The Stars On BAFTA Red Carpet As Kate Recovers

Prince William was pictured with the stars at the recently held BAFTA Awards as his wife, Kate Middleton, recovered from surgery.

Prince William must have felt his wife’s absence as he attended the 2024 BAFTA Awards as academy president without her at his side.

On 17 January, the British royal’s office announced that the princess would be facing up to two weeks in hospital after having abdominal surgery. William, who is the academy president, attended the awards while she was still recovering.

He had previously postponed public engagements to be with Kate but shared a statement on 7 February that he had resumed his duties.

Since 2010, Prince William has been president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. He also attends the awards event annually. The 77th BAFTA Awards happened at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday, 18 February. It was hosted by Doctor Who star David Tennant.

Prince William arrived on the red carpet wearing a navy blue tuxedo and a matching bow tie. CNN reports that Kate is expected to return to her royal duties in April. She would have recovered fully by then.

At this year’s BAFTAs, the historical drama Oppenheimer was the big winner. It won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor.
