R500M Bribe Claims: Blade Nzimande Demands Apology & Retraction From UIF’s Mthunzi Mdwaba

South Africa’s minister of higher education, science and innovation minister Blade Nzimande is locked in a battle of wills with his compatriot, Thunzi Mdwaba, who recently accused him alongside transport minister Fikile Mbalula and another minister of demanding bribes.

Nzimande isn’t taking the allegations lying low, however. According to reports, he has filed criminal charges against his accuser while also making some demands from him. Nzimande wants not just an apology but a reaction as well.

Interestingly, besides Nzimande, Fikile Mbalula has also filed charges against Mdwaba, making similar demands. His “case of crimen injuria and defeating the ends of justice” was filed on November 9

Mthunzi Mdwaba, who calls the shots as CEO of Thuja Capital, claims that Zimande, Mbalula and others had sent people to him to demand R500 million out of the R5 million his company was going to receive as part of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) job scheme.

By the way, Zimande not only asked for a retraction and an apology but also denied the claims made against him by Mdwaba.

On his part, Mbalula isn’t having it too good from the public. Some netizens already think him guilty and have been mocking him over the case he opened against Mdwaba
