R800k Payment: Police Say No evidence To Arrest Gcaba

The battle to unmask the killers of South African rapper AKA continues with a recent claim that there is no evidence to arrest Mandla Gcaba for involvement in AKA’s death.

The “Touch My Blood” rapper was shot dead at point-blank range just outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. He’d just had a good time with his friends and associates at that place.

A few minutes after stepping out, he collapsed to the ground, bloodied, never again to share the embrace of the girlfriend he left at home, Nadia Nakai, and that of his family. Also killed with him was his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

It was alleged that Mandla Gcaba had paid R800k into the FNB accounts of one of the suspects just hours before the hit. In his defence, the Gcaba family, which is involved in transport and other businesses, denied that Mandla had a hand in the killing.

They pointed out back then that Mandla had business dealings with the suspect and it wasn’t the first time he’s made payments into his account.

Well, the police authorities are not saying there is no sufficient evidence to arrest Mandla. This means he is currently a free man – until massive evidence should be unearthed against him.
