The year 2023 is over. As is traditional with most people, they would take stock of the year, sharing their lessons and memories, good or bad. One of those who did just that was Rachel Kolisi, wife of the South African rugby ace Siya Kolisi.
In late 2023, the Springboks (the South African national rugby team) faced off with their New Zealand counterparts (the All Blacks). The South African side was victorious, leaving the other team heartbroken.
Well, reflecting on that period last year, from a dump of photos recollecting events of 2023. Rachel had pointed out that she failed to share a picture of the All Black’s Ardie Savea, who, despite his team’s loss, still managed to overcome the pain and take photographs with those who wanted pictures with him.
In the picture, Ardie could be seen smiling ahead while the cameras clicked on. She describe Ardie as one of the most amazing humans, and he made it a point to say “hi” despite his country and team losing. Some would say that is a sign of great sportsmanship. See the post below.
Ardie would be pleased knowing that a “small” gesture of his counted for much for someone beyond the oceans – somewhere in Africa.
