Rap Legend DMX Dead At 50

It’s sad time for American rap, having just lost one of its notable figures, DMX. The “Party Up” star died yesterday Friday 9 April 2021 at White Plains Hospital after several days on life support. He was 50.

DMX had reportedly suffered a heart attack following a drug overdose and was rushed to the hospital, where he was said to be fallen into a vegetative state.

Years back, the songster had had a drug overdose and had to be saved with Narcan. He wasn’t so fortunate the next time. He had been rushed to the ICU following his latest overdose.

News surfaced briefly that he was out of ICU and recovering. But by Friday, it soon emerged that the information wasn’t correct and that musician, who was famous for songs like “Who We Be” and “What’s My Name,” was dead.

The news of his dead his cast a pall or mourning across social media, with some of his fans sharing their favourite songs from his catalaogue and recollecting his heydays in the world of American pop.

In a statement, his family described him as a warrior who fought till the end. Details of his memorial will be out soon, according to his family. Stay tuned.
