Rashid Kay Takes Shot At Mabala Noise Over Reports Of Label’s Demise

Once upon a Time, they were considered one of the big-name record labels in South Africa, with several notable names under their wind, including the “Zulu Man With Some Power,” Nasty C.

But it appears like the noise is no longer noising (as they say down here) for the South African record label Mabala Noise. Not much has been heard of the record label of recent. And now, with reports that the record label has folded up, some people are beginning to share their thoughts openly about it.

One such person is the music buff Rashid Kay. In a recent tweet in reaction to a news report that Mabala Noise had folded up, noted comically, “I blew it,” implying that the label probably had a chance at success but messed up big time, leading to its demise.

Indeed Mabala Noise has come a long way. Before its demise, it stood out as much for the calibre of musicians signed to it as dits sporadic war with Ambitiouz Entertainment, one of the most controversial record labels in South Africa.
