Real Housewives of Johannesburg Gets Cancelled

Here’s why the Real Housewives of Johannesburg was cancelled.

You may have heard the news that the popular reality show, “The Real Housewives of Johannesburg” was cancelled after three seasons due to low numbers. According to a report by Zimoja, the show was cancelled because of disputes between the producer and actress, Sonia Mbele and the channel.

Reports reveal that the channel decided not to recommission another season after they conducted a business review. It is said that the drama began when Sonia Mbele was told to stop communicating directly with NBC, the creators of the show in the United States. A source for the publication said,

“She is good at what she does and she is the one who brought the franchise to SA,”

However, the source claims that Sonia is not bothered by the cancellation, “but she has issues with people trying to discredit her work.” Zimoja writes that the CEO of General Entertainment at Multichoice, Nomsa Philiso refused to comment on the matter.

Replying the publication, Sonia confirmed that she has been informed that the show has been cancelled. She said she just wants what she is owed.

“My job is to set trends and let the rest follow. They must just pay me what they owe me,” said Sonia.
