SA Hip Hop star Reason has clarified how he came up with his Amapiano name.
Mzansi has watched as many artists and producers have made very noticeable switches from their original genre to Amapiano. While this was a shocker in the past, it has now become a norm.
Reason’s switch from SA Hip Hop to Amapiano led to many backlashes, mainly because he had criticized Cassper Nyovest about it. He also changed his name to Sizwe Alakine and has since contributed to some of the biggest Piano jams on the airwaves today.
In a recent interview on Pop Radio, the Piano star revealed how he came up with the name Sizwe Alakine. He shared that Alakine means “to do.” He also revealed that he had initially wanted to just go with the name Sizwe, but he was advised to add one more name to it like “Musa Keys,” “Felo Le Tee,” etc. Watch the full interview below.
