Relief As ActionSA’s Ngobeni And Gafane Are Found Following Hijacking Scare

Hijacking is one of the prevalent crimes in South Africa. So the news of a hijacking incident might not come as a surprise to a lot of people. However, when famous or political figures are involved, there is usually greater interest in the case.

This was exactly what played out recently when members of the opposition ActionSA suffered a hijacking.

The ActionSA premier candidate Funzi Ngobeni and party youth leader Hluphi Gafane were both victims of a hijacking recently, which caused great buzz across South Africa.

Allegedly, the two of them were forced into Ngobeni’s Toyota Hilux in the Olivenhoutbosch on Tuesday evening. Thereafter followed a brief blackout about their whereabouts.

Fortunately, it was soon reported that the two of them had been found unharmed, but still in shock over the hijacking incident.

Following the pair’s disappearance, ActionSA issued a missing person alert on X, informing the public about the duo and requesting information that might lead to their location.

With the two of them having been found, attention has shifted to what exactly went down on the Tuesday the hijacking took place, as well as the prevalence of hijacking crimes across South Africa. It remains to be seen what follows next.
