RICO Charges: Gunna Denied Bond, Trial Set For 2023

It is not yet uhuru for YSL rapper Gunna as he was denied bond and his trial set for next year — 2023.

The songster was indicted along with other labels mates, including Young Thug, on RICO charges and a Fulton County judge denied him bond.

On the reason for the denial of the bond, the presiding judge noted that the rapper was a danger to witnesses and others with close ties to the case.

At his trial yesterday, Monday, May 23, Gunna had pleaded not guilty to racketeering charges.

However, the prosecution insisted that he was not just an associate of the collective but a documented gang member and someone in a position of authority.

Amid the spectre of bail denial, some artists, including Metro Boomin and T.I., have been showing support to Gunna. In a tweet, Boomin noted that using lyrics to indict someone was lame as fccck and a joke because the same lyrics have made a fortune for corporations over the years.

While Gunna already knows his fate over bond, Young Thug was yet to know his at the time of writing. A bond ruling for Thugger had reportedly been delayed over a conflict of interest. But that should change soon.
