A rising rapper was murdered in Durban.
On Saturday, April 8, another rapper was murdered in Durban. He was identified as Lakhe “ThisGuy ThatGuy” Somdaka, a former OneMic 2018 contestant who entered the scene through the SABC 1 music show. He was also known as The Schizophrenic Prince of Rap and had rolled out several tracks, including ‘Gege-Legege,’ ‘With The Squaa,’ ‘I’ll always have me,’ and ‘SELF.’
The news of his murder was confirmed by Slikour. Mzansi has since reacted to the insecurity in Durban. The question of “why artists are being murdered” also continues to circulate. The country is yet to recover from the impact of AKA’s death (alongside his bestfriend), who was also murdered in Durban while he was out with friends.
Other artists, including DJ Sumbody, Vusi Ma R5, and more, were also killed. Bongani Fassie reportedly escaped being stabbed. He said someone sent him a message saying it should have been him who died instead of AKA.
