South African Country Music Legend, Jody Wayne is dead at 77.
Mzansi mourns the passing of Country Music Legend, Jody Wayne who has reportedly passed at the age of 77. The news broke that he died on Monday, February 14, 2022.
His death was confirmed by Mara van der Bergh in a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, February 15. The post indicated that the late singer has been very special in their lives for over 6 decades. It also revealed that he will always be remembered as Li’l Jo.
It reads “The Country Legends and this office would like to express their sincerest sympathies to his Sister Jill and her family with this loss. We would also like to thank Ros and Tony for all their love and attention, especially during this very trying time,” It is yet to be revealed what led to his death, but fans and fellow musicians have since taken to social media to share their tributes to him also give love to the people he left behind. SA People reports that Wayne amassed 27 Gold and platinum discs during the course of his career, and 23 as a producer.
