SABC Confirms DJ Naves Has Left Metro FM

The SABC releases a statement confirming DJ Naves’ departure from Metro FM.

DJ Naves took fans by surprise, announcing her departure from Metro FM. He wrote,

“Looking back on my time at Metro FM, I’ve had the privileged chance to be part of some great shows like Rhyme & Reason, The Preparty, The Kings Suite, and Kings Of The Weekend. It’s been such an awesome journey of growth over the years.”

TimesLIVE reported that the announcement marked The DJ’s second exit from the station. The publication reports that he left in 2017 after seven years of entertaining Metro FM listeners. However, he returned after two years of working with Gagasi FM.

He continued, “I’m not scared of it. It’s a new start, a chance to learn, and a time to create on a fresh slate. I’m so thankful for the experiences, opportunities, and the incredible people I’ve worked with — some of whom have become lifelong friends.”

The SABC has confirmed his exit. Mmoni Seapolelo, the SABC’s acting group executive: corporate affairs and marketing, said,

“The SABC can confirm that DJ Naves will be leaving Metro FM at the end of January, and the station wishes him all the best in his future endeavours. “Sphectacula will continue to present the show.”
