SAMAs Responds to Cassper’s Accusations of Corruption

The SAMAs responds to Cassper Nyovest’s accusation of corruption.

Cassper Nyovest is mad at the South African Music Awards and many believe that it is for good reason. The “Amademoni” rapper has been at odds with the award show since his hit song “Doc Shebeleza” was not nominated for “Song Of The Year” in 2015 despite being submitted.

He recently slammed the Awards saying it doesn’t mean anything to artists. He also stated that it is still relevant because it gets a lot of submissions. His comments were replied by spokesperson, Lesley Mofokeng who stated to TshisaLIVE that their judging systems were proven to be “resilient and with integrity”.

The SAMAs recently trended following Master KG’s big win at the MTV EMAs. KG took home the award for Best African Act beating out Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, Burna Boy, Sheebah and Gaz Mawete. This caused many to question the credibility of the SAMA’s (Jerusalema was not even nominated).
