Samthing Soweto Reacts To DA Using His Music at Manifesto Launch

Famous Mzansi singer and songwriter Samthing Soweto has reacted to the DA using his music at their Manifesto Launch.

Samthing Soweto might be one of the most unproblematic artists in the history of the South African music scene. The singer recently trended after DJ Maphorisa shared how the hit song “Emcimbini” was made. He said they begged to sample the song and release it,

“Mas Musiq sampled Samthing Soweto’s afro beat song. Then, when we played it at Live [AMP] , Samthing Soweto freaked, asking why are the boys sampling him. I begged Samthing Soweto, telling him that the song is big. I then thought Kabza and I should take it, and he should add a verse,” said Porry.

Samthing Soweto recently reacted to a video of two men singing his song at the DA Manifesto Launch. He quoted the video, writing,

“Geez man, talk about crossing over. I appreciate every rendition, bring it home, boys.”

Samthing Soweto also told Briefly News that the political party never approached him for permission to use his music at their manifesto launch. He said,

“No, they havent approached me. I make music, my only concern is with how people enjoy my music. I leave the politics to the politicians.”
