Not long ago, she indicated that her ancestors might be calling her into the sangoma tradition. She’d also made it clear that she’s be taking the call seriously.
First, she had shared a picture of herself in the clothes of a sangoma (traditional healer), goat horn in her hand, in what appears to be a stagnant stream – or the stagnant section of a stream. The caption to that post indicated she’s now a water princess.
Clearly, Zodwa Wabantu is not all pictures and all mouth. In a recent post to her verified Instagram page, the mother of one had indicated that her initiation into the office of a sangoma has begun in earnest.
The picture showed her on a white wrapper, kneeling before three men, one of whom is stooped and stirring something in a white bucket. The other two are standing, with one of them holding a white fowl.
The initiation is taking place in Cofimvaba, Eastern Cape. Of course, it is expected that Zodwa Wabantu will inform her fans as soon as she completes the initiation.
The comment section of her post showing the initiation process indicates that some of her fans are in support of her sangoma move. Some have joked that they will come to her for consultations soon.
