Collaborations are nothing new in the world of music – not in South Africa, not in Nigeria, and not anywhere in the world. So when Saudi and the music producer Mashbeatz linked up for a joint project dubbed “SAWFSIDE,” not many were surprised.
Of course, the two aren’t known to be avid collaborators. But their linking up has got many South Africans excited – and understandably so. Both are pretty good at spitting their bars and they actually make a fine team.
This is evident right from the very first track when the two delivered one “Hell of a Night” and then go “Toxic” next. They maintained the same energy with “SAWFSIDE Demon,” “Money,” “Go Up,” “Buy the World,” and a bonus track dubbed “Cross-breed.”
A look at the titles of the compilation shows that the two musicians wanted to snag attention as much from the titles as from the lyrics. The titles are intriguing and make you want to actually check out what the songsters have put together.
Interestingly – and to the pleasure of the listener – the musos have got a winner here. The compilation is worth the playtime and should make the list of anyone who wants a good time. Mashbeatz and Saudi should link up again.
