Senzo Meyiwa: Chicco Twala Fumes After Being Stripped Of National Orders Nomination

Senzo Meyiwa might be dead, but his ghost is still walking tall, alive in the consciousness of a whole nation, and harassing now and again those allegedly linked to his death. One such person is the veteran musician Chicco Twala.
The veteran music producer is hurt that his name was expunged from the National Order nomination list over his alleged link to the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.

Senzo was a former goalkeeper with the South African national team, Bafana Bafana. He was shot dead in 2014 in what was alleged to be a robbery gone wrong. Since then, investigators have tried to unravel the mystery behind the killing – to no avail.

The National Orders are South Africa’s highest national honours and are conferred on many deserving citizens across the country. It would have been a triumphant moment for the celebrated musician. But the removal of his name turned things into ashes in his mouth.

He is understandably not pleased. He had been approached by a member of the presidency and his profile taken. He was thereafter told he had been nominated for the national honour. He, unfortunately, didn’t get it.
It remains to be seen whether he would still be honoured later in the future.
