Sho Madjozi Says It Was Risky To Hold The Quarantine Online Party
Sho Madjozi explained that holding the quarantine online party could pose as a risk for the spread of coronavirus.
Internationally-acclaimed South African rapper, Sho Madjozi, has expressed their distaste over the Quarantine Online Party that was live-streamed over the weekend. According to the rapper, social distancing was not implemented properly, just like other parties that we have been told to avoid during this pandemic era.
pH announced last week that a Quarantine Party will be hosted by him on Saturday. He also stated that artists that would headline the event include DJ Zinhle, Darque, Scorpion Kings DJ Maphorisa & Kabza De Small, Shimza, Black Motion, and himself.
Music lovers in Mzansi were highly anticipating the live stream as they could not go out and groove, following the step to control the spread of coronavirus. However, the live-stream had some issues.
Even though Sho Madjozi was pleased with the idea of pH organising an online party, she explained that the DJs in attendance and their friends were at risk as they were touching the same equipment and celebrating in the same house.
The ‘John Cena’ hitmaker stated:
I was so impressed by the #QuarantineOnlineParty kanti the DJs and their friends were all touching the same equipment and grooving in one house.

Sho Madjozi continued:
Like that’s literally still a party…among people who are the highest risk of spreading it. Ie people who’ve been traveling all over the country and world recently.

The award-winning rapper further explained the meaning of social distancing.
Social distancing means:
1. Staying 2 meters away from each other where possible.
2. Not going to restaurants bars and parties.
3. Not greeting with handshakes, hugs or kisses. It sucks but it’s our best chance of fighting #Covid_19SA

Shimza responded to Sho Madjozi’s concerns by explaining that the party was graced by less than forty people. He stated that most of the people in attendance were working to ensure that the live-stream went on. He further explained that all equipment was sanitized and the DJs took precaution by trying their possible best to avoid touching each other and using hand sanitizer frequently. He also said that they would take better precautions next time.
Hey sis, your concerns r understood. We had >40 people in the venue, most being people who were working on the stream making sure that it worked well. Equipment was sanitized, we as djs+ crew kept sanitizing, some wore masks, we tried to avoid contact..we’ll do better on the next

The ‘John Cena’ hitmaker responded to Shimza’s explanation;
Well done on the idea and that there were measures taken. The missing ingredient was social distancing. It’s extremely important especially for people in our industry because we travel a lot. Glad that you are open to improve. That’s how we will win this thing.

Shimza suggested on Sunday that the next Quarantine Online Party should be a pyjama party. He also revealed that they are working on the artists that will feature on the next line-up.
I think our next #QuarantineOnlineParty should be a pyjama party, what do you say? Working on another tight line up to keep you indoors
