‘Sibongile and The Dlaminis’ Tops Other Shows On DStv

“Sibongile and The Dlaminis” reigns as the top show on DStv.

According to a recent report by The South African, Rhythm World’s popular telenovela ‘Sibongile and The Dlaminis’ has been announced as the the most-watched TV show on DStv and Mzansi Wethu with over 1 million viewers.

Entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela shared the news, writing,

“Sibongile And The Dlaminis ranked number 1. Mzansi Wethu telenovela has been ranked as the number 1 show on DStv per BRCSA March 2024 ratings. The show pulled an episode peak of 1,3-million viewers on March 25th. This is ahead of #UmkhokhaTheCurse episode peak of 827K.”

He also claimed that the numbers should be looked at with caution. According to him, “BRCSA lists shows based on one top episode. That does not mean the number is what a show averages for the whole month — for that we would need to look at a median number.”

He wrote that it is possible that “Umkhokha (The Curse)” might have a bigger audience pull than “Sibongile and The Dlaminis.”

“Sibongile and The Dlaminis,” which airs on Mzansi Wethu, stars actors Luyanda Zwane, Ayanda Borotho (née Ngubane) and Siyabonga Shibe, and Vuyo Biyela. The South African reports that it was announced as the most-watched show on Mzansi Wethu with over 780 000 viewers in February. It is also produced by the same production company for “Umkhokha: The Curse” and “My Brother’s Keeper,” Rhythm World Productions.
