Singapore Has Provided Grant For Exclusive Taylor Swift Eras Tour show

Singapore reportedly provides grand for an exclusive Taylor Swift Eras Tour show in the country.

According to recent reports, the Taylor Swift Eras Tour will be happening in Singapore. This comes after the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) provided a grant to help bring the American popstar’s world tour to the country next month. This would mark Taylor’s only stop in Southeast Asia.

The announcement was made by the STB and the Ministry of Community, Culture, and Youth (MCCY) on Tuesday, February 20, while responding to media inquiries. However, they did not confirm if an exclusive show included a deal that would prevent the “Anti Hero” star from holding her Eras world tour anywhere else in Southeast Asia.

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, on Friday, revealed that the Singapore government offered US$2 million to US$3 million per show in exchange for exclusivity in Southeast Asia.

MCCY and STB also reveal that over 300,000 tickets have been sold for the show. Also, a “significant” number of fans will be traveling from other countries.

They also stated,

“It is likely to generate significant benefits to the Singapore economy, especially to tourism activities such as hospitality, retail, travel, and dining, as has happened in other cities in which Taylor Swift has performed.”
