Now and then rumours circulate online of the death of important figures in public life when in fact they are alive and flying. The most recent to experience this jarring reality is South African singer Ami Faku.
The Vth Season artiste was rumoured dead on Facebook, leading to a wave of grief among her firmest fans and a serious debate on what really happened to her. But it soon emerged that she wasn’t dead, after all.
In a post, the “Imali” songstress disclaimed her death, letting her fans know she was very much alive.
It is unknown if the rumours of her death was provoked buy her “Lala Ngoxolo” song which translates to “rest in peace” from the Zulu. The song featured former Ambitiouz Entertainment artiste Emtee.
By the way, some traditionalists believe that when a person lives to witness rumours of his death, the person will actually love longer than usual. Will that be the case for the songstress? We can’t tell, but we earnestly hope so.
