Singer Crayon On How Corrupt Officials Buried His Football Career

Corruption has often been pointed at as one of the reasons Nigeria is yet to be great and one of the reasons some Nigerians watch their dreams die before their very eyes.

Celebrated singer Crayon has just given a clue into this reality, commenting on how corruption in the system ruined his dreams of a professional soccer career at Manchester United.

During a recent interview, the songster revealed that he had impressed at trials and was on the verge of signing for Manchester United, but corrupt officials removed his name and replaced it with someone else’s. Thus ended a dream that would probably have led to something impressive.

While the songster may not have made it to Old Trafford, he is still lucky enough to have not given up his other gift, which is music. He loved to dance and was into dance and singing when he was young. In the intervening years, he had been by Don Jazzy and commissioned into the Mavin family.

Today, Crayon’s name is all over the place as one of the memorable voices in Nigerian music.

But then some of his fans wondered if he couldn’t launch into football now that he is famous and has a robust following.
